Investors in People
Throughout our 39 year history Altec has always placed great emphasis on employee retention and development. We pride ourselves on the number of employees who have received their long service award, and the number of former apprentices who have enjoyed a successful career at Altec.
We are committed to inspiring the next generation of engineers, and closing the skills gap currently facing the industry. To do this, we work closely with Hartlepool College of Further Education. Alongside on the job training at Altec, our apprentices study one day a week at the college to achieve their various levels of qualifications.
As part of National Apprenticeship Week 2017, Hartlepool College produced a promotional video filmed at our Bowburn site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj0v3yvnTv8
An apprenticeship at Altec is just the first step in what can become a long and fulfilling career with the company. We continually and actively encourage all of our apprentices to develop their skills and knowledge of all aspects of our business. The testament to this approach is the fact that today one of our Managing Directors was originally an Altec apprentice engineer.
