Altec Supports Hartlepool College Apprenticeship Open Evening
Date Added 17/03/2014
Hartlepool College held its annual Apprenticeship Open Evening on March 5th 2014 as part of National Apprenticeship Week. The event attracted 29 employers, including representatives from Altec Engineering, plus hundreds of people looking for information, advice or recruitment.
The College is one of the largest providers of apprenticeships in the area, with numbers far exceeding those of much larger colleges and training organisations, and has decades of experience.
The event was deemed a huge success, with very positive feedback from both employers and attendees. Steven Wallis Assistant Principal at Hartlepool College commented “It’s difficult to quantify how important the advice and guidance supplied by our employer partners is to the prospective apprentices and their families, as they will no doubt share their experience with other friends and colleagues. We can however state that we have received literally 100s of new applications and enquiries last night, which will be followed and redirected in due course”.
Altec has built up strong links with Hartlepool over the years and the company currently has 9 apprentices studying at the college as part of their apprentice training. This number will increase as more apprentices are recruited as part of Altec’s planned expansion programme.
